چکیده

This paper is concerned with the adsorbate-induced phase transition model on a catalytic surface introduced by Hildebrand et al [2] and Mikhailov et al [3, 7]. They showed that microreactors with submicroreactor and nanometer sizes may spontaneously develop in surface chemical reactions by a non-equilibrium selforganization process. The self-organized micrometers represent localized structure resulting from the interplay between the reaction, diffusion, and an adsorbate-induced structure transformation of the surface. They also assumed that the free energy is associated with the first-order surface phase transition due to the adsorption of chemical substances. Their system is in fact written as follows:   ∂u

Dynamic behavior of the monomer–monomer surface reaction model with adsorbate interactions

The monomer–monomer surface reaction model with an adsorbate interaction term is studied. An epidemic analysis of the poisoning times (tp) for small square lattices as a function of lattice edge length L and interaction strength a at the point of equal adsorption rates yields a dynamic scaling relation which describes the crossover between log-power-law and exponential behavior in L , and is ab...

A generalized adsorption-phase transition model to describe adsorption rates in flexible metal organic framework RPM3-Zn.

Flexible gate-opening metal organic frameworks (GO-MOFs) expand or contract to minimize the overall free energy of the system upon accommodation of an adsorbate. The thermodynamics of the GO process are well described by a number of models, but the kinetics of the process are relatively unexplored. A flexible GO-MOF, RPM3-Zn, exhibits a significant induction period for opening by N2 and Ar at l...

Edge effects on low temperature surface adsorption phases and phase transitions on finite-width square terraces

A transfer matrix approach is used to conduct a thorough investigation of all possible adsorbate configurations or phases on terraces of various widths M including edge effects, and limited to firstand second-neighbor adsorbate–adsorbate interactions. Figures showing the configurations that occur within this model are presented for M 1⁄4 3 and 4, and detailed tables provide the phase sequences ...

Qualitative Analysis of a Scalar-tensor Theory with Exponential Potential

A qualitative analysis of a scalar-tensor cosmological model, with an exponential potential for the scalar field, is performed. The phase diagram for the flat case is constructed. It is shown that solutions with an initial and final inflationary behaviour appear. The conditions for which the scenario favored by supernova type Ia observations becomes an attractor in the space of the solutions ar...

Attractor-Repeller Collision and Eyelet Intermittency at the Transition to Phase Synchronization

The chaotically driven circle map is considered as the simplest model of phase synchronization of a chaotic continuous-time oscillator by external periodic force. The phase dynamics is analyzed via phase-locking regions of the periodic cycles embedded in the strange attractor. It is shown that full synchronization, where all the periodic cycles are phase locked, disappears via the attractor-rep...
